Scott & Cheryl’s Rustic Themed Wedding at Farleigh

Tuesday, January 17th, 2017

Oh I could have easily added a trillion billion images to this blog, so many shots of such a fantastic wedding.   If i’m honest, I was a little nervous about shooting this wedding, as I wanted to do such a great job for these guys.  I’ve known Scott and his family for years, from my childhood, so it was a real personal pleasure to capture this wedding,  and I felt really honoured to have been asked!!   Plus, it was at the fabulous Farleigh, a super venue that’s dear to my heart, a venue that is so supportive of me, by recommending me on a regular basis, which i’m so grateful for!

So Our lovely Cheryl got ready at home, and considering how many bridesmaids she had, it was such a calm house, and of course if makes my job so easy when they’re all as gorgeous as these lovely ladies!!

With everyone ready and looking stunning, off I went to meet Scott at the church, All Saints in Sanderstead, Surrey.  Good to see you scrub up pretty darn well too Mr!!  Their vows were said, their rings exchanged, and with a lovely ceremony, their happily ever after was off too a flying start!

We arrived at the very brilliant Farleigh, which boasted an amazing rustic makeover.  There wasn’t a single thing that these guys hadn’t thought of!  Hats off to Sam Donovan I beleive, it’s certainly a huge bonus when your sister just so happens to be the wedding co-ordinator at your venue.

blog4

After chilling out in the gorgeous sunshine, with drinks, cookies, milkshakes, scones, we were ready to capture our posed photos.

blog5

Just lovely.  Off everyone ventured inside to start our gorgeous meal,  the food was delicious (rather fantastic bonus of my job i’d say, is that I get try out the food).  Farleigh has The Inked Chef on board, and his food is Delicious with a big fat capital D!!!  I love this time in the day, shooting from a distance, capturing the fun and laughter while guests mingle and chat at the tables.

blog6

Oh look! That last pic is me he he!  Gotta love a guest who steals my camera.  The speeches were great,  tears were certainly shed!!

blog7

So, the wedding breakfast came to a close, and everyone ventured outside, the sun was fading, and the funky lights came into action, which made for a lovely atmosphere for the guests, whilst they were entertained by the magician.

blog8

And the evening shenanigans were off, with the dancefloor packed, but then I wouldn’t expect anything less when they have the fabulous Dean DJ Elite to keep the music flowing!

blog9

Scott and Cheryl, I soooooo enjoyed capturing your wedding, it was an absolute pleasure to be part of your day.  Thanks to Farleigh for looking after me so well.

Thanks for reading, if you’d like to have a chat about the photography for your own day, please do give me a call for a chat.

Take care

John & Carol have a Coulsdon Manor Wedding

Saturday, July 27th, 2013

Once every so often, I cover a midweek wedding, where I’m only needed for a couple of hours.

Back to a venue which I’m very familiar with, Coulsdon Manor, set in acres of beautifully kept countryside, with the golf course as a stunning back drop.  The team here at the Coulsdon Manor are fantastic.

Have a little look at John & Carols lovely intimate wedding…..

A Vintage Afternoon Tea for Nicola & Colin!

Tuesday, May 21st, 2013

Wow, wow, and triple WOW!!! I am totally and utterley in LOVE with this wedding!  FACT!!! :-)

I felt so excited and so over the moon at capturing this wedding.  If anyone has seen me in action, they’ll know what I mean, but I actually felt like doing a little dance each time I looked at the LCD screen!

Nicola’s bridal preparations took place at the Oatlands Park Hotel, Weybridge, with a church service to follow at St John’s in Webridge.  Unfortunately, I had a rather strict priest (to say the least!!!) who wouldn’t allow any images whatsoever of the ceremony! :-( Hey ho, ce la vie! I did feel a little gutted though, as I sat and watched these guys exchange their vows.

It was so lovely to have the sunshine making an appearance for us, although the rain did start, but luckily each time it did, it was at a time when it didn’t matter!

Back to one of my all time favourite venues, The Red Barn in Lingfield.  A quirky barn set in the surrey countryside.  A few more shots to capture the location, and inside we go, with a set up of bunting and vintage crockery, all ready for an afternoon of Cream Teas, and champagne.

I have to say, the speeches at this wedding, were some of the best i’d EVER heard!  I actually shed a tear behind the camera!  And then the best mans’ speeches, well they were hillarious, and just sooooo clever!

Some weddings there’s just so much to capture, with the beautiful details, and the superb characters.  Putting this blog together, I felt like I could have selected a million more images to share with you all!  Really lovely people, families who got on incredibly well, and friends who clearly thought the world of this lovely couple.

Have a look though these images, gorgeous gorgeous images of a couple that just fitted together absolutely perfectly!!

An Easter Sunday Wedding for Luciano & Michaela

Tuesday, May 21st, 2013

So, Sunday March 31st was chosen for this lovely wedding, for the fact that it was Easter Sunday.  Spring was here, only – it was bitterly cold!

Michaela’s bridal preparations were held at The Selsdon Park Hotel,  with the church service held at St Johns in Shirley, followed by a fabulous reception at the Farleigh Court Golf Club near Selsdon, Croydon.

Both Michaela & Luciano, were such caring characters, making sure they looked after all of there guests! Thank you for looking after me so well too!

There was some lovely touches at this wedding, with Luciano’s brother singing along to a track recorded many a moon ago by their late father, nice!! A games room with a wii for the kids, and a poetry corner for guests to reflect on the day.

The gorgeous car was provided by Shirley chauffeurs, great friends of mine, check out their website to see their collection… http://shirleychauffeurs.co.uk/

We popped out for a couple of shots on the course before the sun went down, and I have never ever felt so cold, the wind was so strong, but we still managed to catch a few more crackers.

Have a little look for yourselves to see how their day panned out……

Rachel & Jonathan get wed on a Snowy day in April…. What???

Monday, May 13th, 2013

So, here we are in the beginning of April, when the daffodils should be in bloom, and temperatures beginning to warm up – but no!!!  Not at all!!!  We were met with freek snow, and the type of snow that was wet and and sleety, and boy was it cold! If it’s going to snow at a wedding, you want it to snow properly or just not at all!!  Having said all this and getting my moans out of the way (photographers are just never happy with the weather conditions!!), my bride and groom were absolutely fabulous.  They were both determined to use the amazing grounds of their chosen venue, Woldingham school, a stunning Mansion set in the Surrey countryside.

Despite the weather, this was such a fantastic wedding.  Rachel started to get ready at her Mums house, and then moved onto the school to complete the Bridal preparations.  Pink, pink, pink and lots more pink!! Girls just can’t have enough pink!  Rachel was horrendously late for the ceremony, and in such a calm fashion! ha! I’ve never met a bride that was sooooooo calm about the fact that time was just ticking away! :-)

Their ceremony was held in the grounds, in the Catholic Chapel.  I love it when everything is all under one roof, no travelling in between, just pure bliss for photographers and guests alike!

Inside for a theme with  a real difference, full of Love Hearts, and goldfish!  Goldfish, ha…. i’ve never seen such quirky centre pieces.  They were then given to guests to take home as pets after… cute!  The stunning flowers were provided by www.emmafloraldesigns.com  Emma, has covered the floristry at quite a few of my weddings now, and her work never fails to be anything less than amazing!

In my eyes what makes a wedding amazing  – is the people.  Yes of course, it helps that the venue was just stunning, and that my lovely couple were simply just gorgeous, but, it’s definately the people that makes a day like this so special.  Rachel and Jonathan were surrounded by such lovely people, really close families who clearly cared about each other, and just hillarious friends!!

Have a little look for yourselves, and see just how superb this wedding actually was……

Sarah & Brad tie the knot at the Coulsdon Manor

Wednesday, February 20th, 2013

I first met Sarah & Brad at a wedding fair, along with their parents, and I instantly warmed to them, this was a wedding that I was looking forward to already!!!

Unusually, I firstly popped along to the groom preparations , as Brads parents were only 2 minutes away from the venue.  The guys were amazing, and just the youngest looking Mum, EVER!!!……

blog50

Then a short drive over to Coulsdon manor to the Bridal Preparations…………..

blog51

The girls were absolutely gorgeous, and the atmosphere was incredibly calm and relaxed.  So back in the car, and another short drive over to church, St John the Baptist in Purley this time , for a lovely ceremony……

blog52

So, back to the Coulsdon Manor.  I have to say, the characters of Sarah & Brad were brilliant, they both have an energy about them, that just makes everyone smile around them!!!  The guests chilled in the sunshine with their drinks, while we cracked on with our family shots…..

blog53

And of course, some of our gorgeous couple…..

blog54

Then inside into the lovely Blenheim suite, and the party was underway…..

blog55

So the room was being prepared for the evenings antics, and the light outside was begining to fade, so off we went for a few more cheeky shots……

blog56

And so the dancing started, and it didn’t stop…. love it! Such a great crowd, such great fun…..

blog57

Such a fantastic wedding, definately one of my favourties, purely because of the adorable characters!!!

Lucy & Mike tie the knot at the Selsdon Park Hotel

Monday, February 18th, 2013

Now this was a wedding with some characters!! A wedding full of real heart felt laughter, some football chanting (massive, massive Palace fans!) and some amazing relationships with friends and family!  Thoroughly enjoyed this day, to be honest – I do enjoy all my days, but I did laugh a lot at this wedding!!!

Set at the Stunning Selsdon Park Hotel, in Croydon, great venue, back in July (i’m catching up with my blogging)….

Then a short drive off to  St Domonics Church in Waddon for a lovely service…..

Then back to the lovely Selsdon Park Hotel, for some family shots.  We didn’t have a huge amount of time, but we knew we could grab some more shots after the meal.  The sun was sooooo hot, poor Lucy actually ended up getting sunburnt! Note to summer brides – remember the suntan lotion :-) ………

Moving inside to enjoy the meal, and the laughter didn’t stop! Love it!  The colour scheme was fantastic, really bright and vibrant……

So, while the room gets prepared for the evenings fun, everyone spills out onto the terrace for some early evening chilling, and some more posing, although we did have 1 bright red sunburned shoulder and  a rather tipsy groom by this stage :-) …….

And so the evening fun begins……

An absolutely brilliant wedding that will definately stay close to my heart!!!

Natalie & Kevin marry in the grounds of Sir Winston Churchills home

Thursday, May 10th, 2012

What a wonderful wedding this was.  Natalie and Kevin chose to marry in the grounds of Chartwell in Westerham, Kent, the former home of Sir Winston Churchill, and what a stunning backdrop it provided, and then went onto the Botley Hill Farmhouse in Warlingham to party the night away.

I had already had the pleasure of meeting Natalie and Kevin before, as Kevin was the best man for a couple whose wedding I captured last year, so it was lovely to catch up with everyone again.

True beauty lies within, and this couple were gorgeous on the outside, but had a radiance and love for life that absolutely shone through with every smile, and every word that was spoken!!  And I have to admit, I actually had to wipe away the tears from my own eyes when listening to their speeches to each other, this was a couple that are so, so so in love with each other, and knew exactly the right words to express what they were feeling!!!

My good weather angel tried her darned hardest, and considering the weather either side of this day was pouring down with rain, this very lucky couple got away with a tiny bit of fine drizzle.  It may have been very chilly, but they very cleverly bought a basket of around 20 umbrellas with them, so everyone was kept dry!!

I can’t wait to show you the rest of them!!!! :-) Good luck with your future together guys, and I sincerely hope we all keep in contact.
