Tom & Kirsten’s Vintage Meadowcroft Festival Wedding at the Red Barn

Friday, January 30th, 2015

So, this was a wedding with a difference, a vintage festival wedding!!  It was so cute.  Kirsten had though of absolutely everything, from personalised festival wrist bands, to cd’s of their favourite music, there wasn’t anything they hadn’t thought about.  Tom & Kirsten married at St Johns Church in Old Coulsdon, a lovely ceremony with tea and home made cakes to follow.  Then off everyone travelled on the big red bus, to one of my favourite venues, The Red Barn, an extremely quirky barn, situated near Lingfield in Surrey.

Everyone gathered in the paddock, for drinks, games, and even a spot of cricket.  Such a relaxed atmosphere. Dinner was served inside the barn, and the evening entertainment was provided by Dad on the decs, a job very well done indeed!!     Take a look through the images, it was a fantastic day.

Hanna & Daniels most AMAZING Hever Castle Wedding!

Sunday, September 29th, 2013

So, When a bride calls me to say they’d like to book me as their wedding photographer, and that they don’t even need to meet me because I’d come highly recommended, I most certainly feel dead chuffed and quite proud of myself!

Then, they tell you their plans, and you start thinking wooooooooaaaaahh!!! What an opportunity, to have THIS as your backdrop!!!

blog1

And then you start feeling quite nervous deep inside!!  You have one chance to get this spot on, and do this wedding the justice that it deserved!  That combined with a day that was supposed to be raining the entire day, and a bride that knows EXACTLY how she wants things done, eh Hanna!!  The pressure was on. HA!   I then notice my bride has just liked my facebook page, so I get to have a sneaky peek at their profile picture.  And you think, get in there!! Ha! Not only have I got a whoppingly wonderful venue, but a pretty good looking couple to match it!!!

So, Hanna got ready at her mums house, a very relaxed morning, and off to Hever Castle we went.  Hanna and Daniel held their ceremony on the Loggia, overlooking the lake.  Absolutely stunning and tranquil, with the harpist playing in the background, and ducks walking through!  It was a late ceremony, at 4.30pm.  And what looked like a day that was going to be full of rain, suddenly at about 4pm, the clouds parted and we actually ended up with  a glorious day and the sunshine made an appearance!  No umbrella’s required whatsoever.

After the ceremony, we covered the group shots, and I was then able to disappeared off with Hanna and Daniel, whilst their guests enjoyed their drinks over looking the lake.  The pressure was on again, so so so many opportunities for backdrops, so many ideas of where we could go, and so little time to cover the vast grounds!  Hanna and Daniel were troupers, they were determined to cover it all, and off we all went for a brisk journey through the stunning grounds of Hever, to finish just as the sun was starting to set.

Back inside we went, into the Guthrie Pavillion for the wedding breakfast and evening celebrations.  Hanna and Daniels families are both Italian, so with the vibrant characters filling the room, the laughter flowed throughout.  It was lovely to watch the close relationships between everyone.

Such a fantastic wedding, and I could have actually chosen a million images to show you  from this lovely day, but have a look for yourself, here’s just some of my favourites from the day….. enjoy…..

A Vintage Oaks Farm Wonderland for Michelle & Tom

Friday, September 27th, 2013

I’ve been meaning to write this blog for sometime now, Michelle & Tom got married in August, at one of my favourite venues Oaks Farm in Shirley, Croydon.  It’s a fabulous venue, and to top it off the weather was gorgeous enough to have an outside ceremony.  And what a lovely couple!! Michelle & Tom met at school, so being child hood sweethearts with their 2 little boys, finally decided to tie the knot.  A great couple, and the relationship between them was lovely to watch through my lens!

Michelle got ready at the Selsdon Park Hotel, in a lovely spacious room.  Michelle’s hair was created by Sam Morgan of Chrysalis Hair & Beauty, and did a fantastic job, like she does everytime I have the pleasure of working with her.

Shelly from Muscari Whites florist, as always created the most spectacular sites.  Shelly was given free reign to create anything she liked within Michelles colour scheme, and the ideas just flowed.  See for yourself, there was something different to look at everytime you turned your head!!

This wedding was an absolute cracker, full of really great characters, with banter flowing and giggles and laughter all around.  Have a look for yourself, just lovely!!…….

Georgie & Kevins wedding at the Warren

Saturday, July 27th, 2013

I loved this wedding, full of really gorgeous characters!  Georgie got ready at her Mum and Dads house, all lovely and calm.  I do have to give a special mention to Georgies parents, purely for the fact that they were still completely in love with each other, so good to see it!!  Then onto the All Saint Church in Warlingham to tie the knot.  Once again, my most favourite chauffeur company was with us, Shirley Chauffeurs, seriously check them out, they provide a real top class service…. www.shirleychauffeurs.co.uk

The rain really wanted to make an appearance on their day, but, hats off to it, as it only started at times when it didn’t matter.  We’d literally just finished taking our pictures outside the church, and it started to rain just as Georgie was about to go into the church….. result!! :-) It was a lovely service, I wasn’t allowed to take images during the ceremony, but still managed to capture a couple of crackers coming up and down the aisle.

As we came out it was still raining, so with the help from Chris our Chauffeur who was at the ready with his large umberella, everyone stayed dry, and by the time we arrived at the venue, the rain had stopped!! Couldn’t have been luckier!  However, the skies were grey and we all had that feeling that I could have poured down at any moment!

The reception was held at The Warren, based in Hayes in Kent, it’s a fantastic venue.  Its actually the home of the sports and social club for the metropolitan police, but it’s a beautiful country house set in acres of land.

Have a little look through these gorgeous images, it was a real pleasure looking through and choosing them…….

Jean & Niels Nutfield Priory Wedding

Saturday, July 27th, 2013

Such a beautiful venue, based in Redhill, overlooking the surrey countryside, with stunning views and seriously stunning architecture, with a design based upon the palace of Westminster.

Jean got ready here at the priory, with the most amazingly spacious suite.  There ceremony was held here to, followed by drinks and canapés in the library.  This fabulous venue provided a fantastic backdrop for our posed images.  I always love it when everything is held under the same venue, it makes everything so relaxed, and I get so much more time to capture the true essence of the day.

The wedding breakfast was lovely and relaxed, lots of giggles coming from the brilliant characters!  The gorgeous cake was created by http://www.jeannettesgreatcakes.co.uk/.  After the meal, everybody spilled out onto the terrace overlooking the views, very relaxing indeed.

Take a little look for yourselves……

John & Carol have a Coulsdon Manor Wedding

Saturday, July 27th, 2013

Once every so often, I cover a midweek wedding, where I’m only needed for a couple of hours.

Back to a venue which I’m very familiar with, Coulsdon Manor, set in acres of beautifully kept countryside, with the golf course as a stunning back drop.  The team here at the Coulsdon Manor are fantastic.

Have a little look at John & Carols lovely intimate wedding…..

Sam & Jason have an amazing PINK wedding!!!

Saturday, July 27th, 2013

Woweegazowee, I’ve never had a pink Bride!!!  Great fun, Sam was like a little Barbie Doll!! :-)

Samantha & Jason tied the knot at my local church, St Marys in Addington Village, a stunning church, over 900 years old, with the most ornate interior.  Only thing was they had serious problems with the roof, so a huge part of the church was unusable covered in scaffolding! So with the wedding party all scrunched up into 1/3 of the church, it was a very cosy ceremony to say the least.  A lovely ceremony indeed though, late afternoon at 4.30.

We popped across the road, to the green for our groups shots, and then off they went in their gorgeous car, provided by Shirley Chauffeurs http://shirleychauffeurs.co.uk/, to the Club Langley in Beckenham for a lovely relaxed party.  With bouncy castles, and a multi talented DJ, who was actually Heather Trotts (in Eastenders) brother!!  Great character, who kept everyone entertained, with his higher or lower card games, and YMCA dances!!

Have a little look for yourself……

A Vintage Afternoon Tea for Nicola & Colin!

Tuesday, May 21st, 2013

Wow, wow, and triple WOW!!! I am totally and utterley in LOVE with this wedding!  FACT!!! :-)

I felt so excited and so over the moon at capturing this wedding.  If anyone has seen me in action, they’ll know what I mean, but I actually felt like doing a little dance each time I looked at the LCD screen!

Nicola’s bridal preparations took place at the Oatlands Park Hotel, Weybridge, with a church service to follow at St John’s in Webridge.  Unfortunately, I had a rather strict priest (to say the least!!!) who wouldn’t allow any images whatsoever of the ceremony! :-( Hey ho, ce la vie! I did feel a little gutted though, as I sat and watched these guys exchange their vows.

It was so lovely to have the sunshine making an appearance for us, although the rain did start, but luckily each time it did, it was at a time when it didn’t matter!

Back to one of my all time favourite venues, The Red Barn in Lingfield.  A quirky barn set in the surrey countryside.  A few more shots to capture the location, and inside we go, with a set up of bunting and vintage crockery, all ready for an afternoon of Cream Teas, and champagne.

I have to say, the speeches at this wedding, were some of the best i’d EVER heard!  I actually shed a tear behind the camera!  And then the best mans’ speeches, well they were hillarious, and just sooooo clever!

Some weddings there’s just so much to capture, with the beautiful details, and the superb characters.  Putting this blog together, I felt like I could have selected a million more images to share with you all!  Really lovely people, families who got on incredibly well, and friends who clearly thought the world of this lovely couple.

Have a look though these images, gorgeous gorgeous images of a couple that just fitted together absolutely perfectly!!

An Easter Sunday Wedding for Luciano & Michaela

Tuesday, May 21st, 2013

So, Sunday March 31st was chosen for this lovely wedding, for the fact that it was Easter Sunday.  Spring was here, only – it was bitterly cold!

Michaela’s bridal preparations were held at The Selsdon Park Hotel,  with the church service held at St Johns in Shirley, followed by a fabulous reception at the Farleigh Court Golf Club near Selsdon, Croydon.

Both Michaela & Luciano, were such caring characters, making sure they looked after all of there guests! Thank you for looking after me so well too!

There was some lovely touches at this wedding, with Luciano’s brother singing along to a track recorded many a moon ago by their late father, nice!! A games room with a wii for the kids, and a poetry corner for guests to reflect on the day.

The gorgeous car was provided by Shirley chauffeurs, great friends of mine, check out their website to see their collection… http://shirleychauffeurs.co.uk/

We popped out for a couple of shots on the course before the sun went down, and I have never ever felt so cold, the wind was so strong, but we still managed to catch a few more crackers.

Have a little look for yourselves to see how their day panned out……

Rachel & Jonathan get wed on a Snowy day in April…. What???

Monday, May 13th, 2013

So, here we are in the beginning of April, when the daffodils should be in bloom, and temperatures beginning to warm up – but no!!!  Not at all!!!  We were met with freek snow, and the type of snow that was wet and and sleety, and boy was it cold! If it’s going to snow at a wedding, you want it to snow properly or just not at all!!  Having said all this and getting my moans out of the way (photographers are just never happy with the weather conditions!!), my bride and groom were absolutely fabulous.  They were both determined to use the amazing grounds of their chosen venue, Woldingham school, a stunning Mansion set in the Surrey countryside.

Despite the weather, this was such a fantastic wedding.  Rachel started to get ready at her Mums house, and then moved onto the school to complete the Bridal preparations.  Pink, pink, pink and lots more pink!! Girls just can’t have enough pink!  Rachel was horrendously late for the ceremony, and in such a calm fashion! ha! I’ve never met a bride that was sooooooo calm about the fact that time was just ticking away! :-)

Their ceremony was held in the grounds, in the Catholic Chapel.  I love it when everything is all under one roof, no travelling in between, just pure bliss for photographers and guests alike!

Inside for a theme with  a real difference, full of Love Hearts, and goldfish!  Goldfish, ha…. i’ve never seen such quirky centre pieces.  They were then given to guests to take home as pets after… cute!  The stunning flowers were provided by www.emmafloraldesigns.com  Emma, has covered the floristry at quite a few of my weddings now, and her work never fails to be anything less than amazing!

In my eyes what makes a wedding amazing  – is the people.  Yes of course, it helps that the venue was just stunning, and that my lovely couple were simply just gorgeous, but, it’s definately the people that makes a day like this so special.  Rachel and Jonathan were surrounded by such lovely people, really close families who clearly cared about each other, and just hillarious friends!!

Have a little look for yourselves, and see just how superb this wedding actually was……
